Tree removal ยท Grand Rapids, MI

Tree removal in Grand Rapids. Written estimate before the saw starts.

Dead, leaning or storm-split trees taken down piece by piece, hauled away, and the stump ground if you want it. You get the price in writing first, for the trees on your lot, from Heritage Hill out to Rockford.

Services

Four jobs. Done right, cleaned up after.

We walk the tree with you, tell you what we'd do and why, and put it on paper. Nothing gets cut that isn't on the estimate.

After the storm

Tree down in Grand Rapids? Here's the order of things.

Summer thunderstorms, ice on the limbs in winter, wet snow in spring. West Michigan trees take a beating. When one comes down, we work through it the same way every time.

  • Hazards first: anything hanging over the house, the drive or the street
  • Clear what's down so you can get in and out
  • Written scope and photos you can hand to your insurance company
  • Then the rest: removal, pruning and stumps, on a schedule that suits you

How it works

What happens after you ask

  1. You tell us

Send the short form: where the tree is and what's wrong with it. A photo helps.

  2. We look

We come out, walk the tree with you, and check what's underneath and around it.

  3. You get it in writing

A written estimate: what gets cut, what gets hauled, what it costs. No obligation.

  4. We do the work

The job on the paper, nothing extra, and the yard raked and blown off when we leave.

FAQ

Straight answers

How much does tree removal cost?

It depends on the tree: height, trunk size, lean, what's under it, and whether a truck can get close. That's why we don't publish a price list. We look at the tree and give you a written number before anything starts. The estimate is free.

Can you help with storm damage and insurance?

Yes. We clear fallen trees and dangerous hangers first, then put the scope of work and photos in writing so you have something to give your insurer. What your policy covers is between you and your insurance company.

Do I need a permit to take down a tree in Grand Rapids?

Rules differ by city, and trees in the strip between the sidewalk and the street are often treated differently from trees in your yard. If we think your tree may need city sign-off, we'll say so on the estimate. Check with your city before work starts.

Is stump grinding included with removal?

Only if you want it. It's listed as a separate line on the estimate so you can say yes or no.

What happens to the wood and branches?

Brush gets chipped and hauled. Trunk wood can be hauled away or cut into rounds and left for firewood. Tell us which and it goes on the estimate.
